Mary Cummings serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Bartz-Altadonna Community Health Center (BACHC), where her visionary leadership has guided the organization through a period of extraordinary growth and transformation.
Since assuming the role in 2017, Mary has formalized and integrated BACHC’s Behavioral Health Program, bringing it into compliance and securing payer participation. She expanded the organization’s footprint and introduced substance use disorder (SUD) services as part of a broader commitment to whole-person care. Under her direction, BACHC achieved The Joint Commission Accreditation, NCQA Patient-Centered Medical Home recognition, and FTCA Deeming, elevating quality and accountability across all sites.
Mary has also led several milestone initiatives, including the launch of BACHC’s in-house and retail pharmacy, the expansion of behavioral health and recovery programs, and the opening of new clinical sites in Boron, Antelope Valley College, West Palmdale, and the Kensington Shelter.
In partnership with Palmdale Regional Medical Center (PMRC), she established the Family Medicine Residency Program, creating a sustainable training pipeline to strengthen the local healthcare workforce.
Through her strategic and compassionate leadership, BACHC continues to thrive as the first and only Federally Qualified Health Center in the Antelope Valley—a beacon of access, equity, and healing dedicated to serving all individuals with dignity and respect.
